We parked on a desolate Crawford County road next to an old abandoned house and hiked one mile into the woods on an old logging road to the top of the cliff that is the highlight of Arnie's hunting woods. The girls carried each other piggyback at different times - it worked much better when Betsy was riding rather than carrying. We have an amusing series of pictures of Betsy carrying and going down with Abbey on her back.
It was a pretty crisp day and it even began snowing as we were leaving after about two hours. Everyone seemed to do well against the cold, even Abbey, who wore jeans with gaping holes.
The picture below is on the same cliff that was in the picture Arnie took in October. Believe it or not, there is a 104' cliff less than 10 feet behind us. There have been fatalaties on that cliff, the last one was about ten years ago. Arnie has chased many turkeys on and around the cliff and the hemlocks that grow there. It is also the only place in Indiana that has mountain laurel growing.
It's a two seater!
