Snappy Lunch

On the way home from North Carolina, Arnie took a short detour through Mt Airy, which is Andy Griffith's hometown and the inspiration for Mayberry. He ate at Snappy Lunch, the only existing (at that time) real Mt. Airy business mentioned on the show. Our whole family was there four or five years ago, but Snappy Lunch was closed for the day. They close at exactly 1:15 every day. The little hole-in-the-wall diner is right next to Floyd's Barber Shop.
Arnie ordered their world-famous pork chop sandwich -  a large pork chop on bun with chili, slaw, tomato, onion, and mustard. It is a very messy sandwich. The sandwich was on his table, dressed in wax paper, within 90 seconds of the order.
