Not the kind of homework you want to see! (Hole burned into it)
On Saturday afternoon, Kelley and Arnie were in the kitchen when Betsy walked in with her little trash basket. She was cleaning her room (!!!) and when she was about done, she brought her overflowing basket through the house and put it into the laundry room. On the way to the laundry room, she noticed that the little incense cone that Kelley had been burning was burned down to a 'nubbin. So, being in a helpful mood, she tossed it into the trash can - which was full of very flammable homework papers.
Ordinarily, we would be thrilled that she was in a cleaning mood, but this time was an exception. The combined smell of incense and burning paper quickly filled the kitchen and Kelley raced over to throw the basket outside.
Betsy was pretty embarrassed, but someday she'll think it is funny.
