Garage Mahal

It was unseasonably warm today, so Arnie and Abbey closed in the garage to begin remodeling it. We have put up with an ugly and depressingly dark garage for eleven years and since we don't have to eat or sleep in it, its remodeling was saved for last.

The garage door came off earlier in the fall because the rails and supports had to be removed in preparation for demolition of the ceiling. The opening let in a lot of cold, rain, and blowing leaves, so it had to be closed in for the duration of the project. The job will involve adding a few additional wall studs, insulating, drywalling, and a new garage door.

So that we don't look too red-neckish during the project, Abbey painted some graffiti on the wood so that the wood doesn't appear permanent. But then, is the graffiti more red-neckish than if the wood was left blank? Who cares - it faces the back and only the Farm Bureau gas man will see it...
