We heard spooks in the attic on Halloween. It was late at night, Kelley had settled in to post on Facebook, the dogs were howling at the full moon and the coyotes that circle the yard at night were howling back, and all was well...until the scratching and clawing above the ceiling. We weren't scared though - we knew it was those crazy barn cats that we keep around.
When Arnie built the new workshop, he essentially built a room inside a room in the front of the garage. He hasn't yet remodeled the garage, so the area between the new room and the walls of the existing garage were open. We kept hearing cats in the space between and then we had to replace the insulation that they had torn down. He put drywall remnants and chicken wire up to keep the cats out, but he didn't go all the way to the ceiling with it.
When LillyGray didn't show up for morning breakfast in the pole barn the next morning, we knew she was probably in the attic. She was. She could get in, but not out. She was mad and hungry.
