We've had that big mound of dirt out by the road that we've intended to turn into a landscaping bed since August when Arnie plowed up the yard and re-seeded it. The first several days, passing motorists (all 3 of them) thought it would be fun to take the curve real wide and drive up onto the dirt. Arnie booby-trapped it with nails and boards because they tore up his new grass also, but we don't know if it got anybody.
Anyway, he tore into it again yesterday. He shoveled and raked, got it into the shape he wanted, and then moved big rocks in. He planted the birdnest spruce that he has been growing since finding them on sale a few years ago for a dollar apiece. Today, he moved Farmer Kirk's old hay rake into the bed and then planted ornamental grasses in and around it. People won't be able to drive up through the yard now unless they want to tear up their under-sides on all of the boulders that are in it.
We should have finished pictures of it in a couple of days.
