Arnie, Skeet (the protector of carcasses), and dad's gun
Arnie finally got a nice buck with his dad's shotgun last night. It was not the one that he had been after for the last week, but it was too big to pass up when his real goal was to get one with the bolt-action 16 gauge that his dad bought at a pawn shop when he was 13 and living in an orphanage in Terre Haute. It is a beat-up, ugly gun that is badly in need of re-finishing, but Arnie wants it to stay that way because that's how it's always looked.
After the 9-pointer was down and he was waiting on Ralph Beloat to drive back on the four wheeler in the fading evening light, he just sat and thought about the hundreds of times he had heard that gun go off in the woods, with his dad pulling the trigger. It's not the biggest buck he has ever gotten, but it's probably the most memorable.

Arnie. This is one of the finest family blogs I think I have ever read. Very well thought out, and produced. Was great to see you again. Keep up the great work. Randy.
