Betsy helped Arnie plant 98 pink tulip bulbs in the new front landscape bed last week. The tulip bulbs were bargains (of course) at Menard's, on sale for 75 cents per bag. They planted 7 bags of 14 bulbs, meaning there will be a whole lot of pink in front of the house next spring. Also in the new bed are three birdnest spruce ($1 apiece), 15 ornamental grasses (free), a serviceberry tree ($5) and Farmer Kirk's old hay rake (free) that Arnie dragged out of the woods over by the old hog house.
