Jake is Jack's brother and is ordinarily one of the Schafers' orchard dogs. He got loose from his chain a couple of weeks ago, but won't let us touch him unless he has a weak moment and we catch him off guard. This afternoon, mom looked out and saw that he had torn up the yellow pages book that the delivery person had thrown on the ground by the mailbox. He was very proud of all of the work he had done - much of it was strewn across the orchard. He carried pages to various places all evening long to ensure that his work was visible from any vantage point in the neighborhood.
