5 for 5
Indiana instituted a fall turkey season in 2006 and dad is still batting a thousand. It took him all day on Friday to find the turkeys and he busted four longbeards off their roost in some hemlocks at dark. He chased them all morning yesterday, but couldn't get in front of them. As he was climbing the ridge heading back to the barn for lunch, he found himself suddenly in the middle of a bunch of turkeys. He shot at the first white head (tom) he saw. The guys had squirrel wings and turkey breast for dinner - cooked on charcoal of couse, due to the burn ban.
