Hoping for mild weather

The race is on. Will the brussel sprouts and cabbage mature before the hard freeze? They were planted later than usual and then the extreme drought slowed them down even more. We may put some plastic over them to extend their growing season, but our sprouts may never get bigger than marbles. Time will tell...

Frost on a cabbage leaf - cabbage can handle a frost, but a hard freeze might ruin our dinner

  1. Hey Arnie! How fitting that you are growing brussel sprouts! You were one of the only people that I remember who would eat the brussel sprouts in the OCC Cafe! You used to call them your baby cabbages! Good luck with getting them to maturity before the freeze!
