Wolfie is the biggest in the neighborhood, but is very mild-mannered
There is a dog society with a culture all its own in the neighborhood. If there is a pecking order, it isn't readily obvious. The Schafers have their dogs to guard the orchard - usually they are restrained. There was Jake, Jack, and a black lab. Unfortunately, the lab was killed by lightning last summer. Of course, Jack became buddies with our Boscoe and may have escaped orchard duty since the Schafers now have two new guard dogs - Cooper and Ruger.
The Chapmans have Wolfie - their only dog now that Ace and Buddy have passed on. Wolfie was brought home many years ago by Becky, their oldest daughter. She got married and moved out, but Wolfie stayed. He is a very large dog, but mild mannered. He lumbers around the immediate area near Chapmans' house, rarely coming up to our house.
Skeet and Casey roam the entire neighborhood however, often going down to Chapmans' to help them clean out Wolfie's food bowl and begging for doggy bones.
