Track meets are not nearly as riveting as basketball. You've got to do a lot of waiting, and then it's pretty intense when the race is on. Grandpa Kenny came to Abbey's track meet against Perry Central and Heritage Hills the other night and he had to wait through a lot of cold to see Abbey win the 800.
Grandpa Kenny is really the girls' great uncle, but they call him Grandpa. A few years ago, Betsy was lamenting the fact that she didn't have a grandpa (this was soon after Grandpa Johnson died). Kenny - who is married to dad's aunt Donna - said he'd be her grandpa. This causes some raised eyebrows when they introduce them as Grandpa Kenny and Aunt Donna...
