We discovered Swiss Chard last year - actually, it isn't we always knew it existed, but it was the first time we tried it - so we planted an heirloom variety of it this year. Last year's plants were very hardy and survived in the hot bed all winter, giving us year-round garden greens. Hopefully, the seed collecting process will be simple enough that we can have a never-ending supply of it in the future.
