22lbs, 22mm spurs, 11" beard
Dad didn't have much time to hunt this year because of being so far behind due to the rain and his work obligations, but since he has this week off, he could find an hour each morning to hunt. Yesterday morning, he went out the back door and heard three gobblers down on the river behind the house. He went down there and came back with this big tom an hour later. The bird was stubborn - it wouldn't cross some backwater to get to the calling, so dad "snuck" up about 10 yards closer so that he could get a shot.
He got it back to the house just as Abbey was leaving for school. We smoked it with hickory bark and it was the best wild turkey yet.
