The shoe store in town saved up some silica packs for dad and he put them in our jars of seeds saved from the garden before putting lids on them. Before doing that, he regenerated them by baking them in the oven for one hour at 250 degrees. There were sixteen jars in all, enough to grow several years of gardens and give away to friends.
