Tomato woes

Amish Paste tomatoes, cut into quarters for canning

Tomatoes are having a hard time getting going this year for some reason. The early tomatoes suffered from some soft spots on the ends, and then all of the varieties have been slow to turn red/orange. The Amish Paste variety finally shook off the spots and have been putting out a steady amount of ripe tomatoes. They are dry tomatoes and great for canning. We are making spaghetti and pizza sauces and also canning whole tomatoes. The juicier tomatoes are just now starting to produce.
