Annual 4th of July

We had our annual 4th of July family event yesterday. It usually involves both mom and dad's sides of the family, but this year there was a lot going on with mom's side and not many showed up. Uncle Rusty put on a great display again this year and mom made some great barbeque. The fireworks are shot off of the dam down below the house. Everyone sits around the curve in the driveway and watches. Many other private displays can be seen between the hill and the Petersburg/White River area while ours are going on.
We watched the 9:35 Delta flight go over, low on its approach to the Evansville airport and wondered how great the scenery would be from an airplane at dusk on the fourth.
The pets all went and hid like they always do - except for Skeet, who always begs for someone to pick her up and hold her while the noise is going on.

These fireworks look like flowers in a vase
