Being tired of eating hotel breakfasts, dad hoped for the best as he drove on Highway 16 from Mount Holly to Marshall Steam Station on Lake Norman in North Carolina. He saw Boater's Diner all lit up along the highway in the pre-dawn darkness, so he stopped in to try it out. He had breakfast with a Connecticut native who was well-versed in women's basketball and pretty proud of UConn's 75 game winning streak. He said the food was excellent and the atmosphere provided a great way to start a day.
