Rabbits and quail are on the comeback around our place this year. We see quail in the road often and we hear a lot of quail calling when we bike. Also, perhaps due to the maturing landscape around the house and the increased amount of vegetables, rabbits are getting very brave. It is nothing to have rabbits bust out from under foot when weeding landscape or garden. The dogs give chase, but only as long as they can see the rabbit. The rabbits simply duck into the nearest bush or ground cover, and then reappear once the threat is gone. Fortunately so far, we haven't noticed a lot of damage to the veggies.
