In order to save some money on our electricity bill (and to save wear and tear on the new dryer), dad ordered parts from Lehman's to build a fancy Amish clothesline. For about $80, we got two big pulleys, the super-duper clothesline, a ratchet, and a spacer. It gets clothes so high that they dry very fast and nobody gets "clotheslined". Mom also gets to stand in one place and pull the line to her, rather than having to walk back and forth to hang clothes.
