It was exciting to see and taste the first syrup that we've ever made. We began with about 12-13 gallons of sap in the first 24 hours, and by Sunday morning had our first 2 1/2 pints of finished syrup. It tastes different, but much better, than the syrup at Cracker Barrel, which is only 55% maple syrup.
This lid already had 08 on it, so dad modified it for the first jar of "syrple"
Them were some GOOOOOOOOOOD flapjacks, my friend. Musta et me bout 7 or 6 of those things.
