Greens!

You got my worm!

The fescue in the chicken/goat pen was destroyed last year from over-grazing and the drought, now all that is left are the skeletons of last year's crabgrass. That means that this year, crabgrass will be all that is available until it is re-sowed in the fall. We threw the weeds from the weeding session over into their pen and the fresh greens were much appreciated. With the rapidly rising cost of goat and chicken feed, we'll have double incentive to toss greens in. (Layer mash has gone from $7 to $10 over the winter.)
