Meth waste found in the ditch
Dad made the mistake of picking up a wad of coffee filters in the ditch last night. They were full of waste from a meth lab and the filters themselves were saturated with the liquid residues of battery acid and the other nasty things that go into that drug. After reporting it to the sheriff's department, he later took a shower. When the hot water hit his hand, it set off a chemical reaction that turned two fingers yellow and the others beet red. He had a tingling sensation that got almost to the painful stage and it moved up his hand to his wrist. Fortunately, the sensation went away after about 30 minutes and he didn't have to seek any treatment. Moral of the story: be careful what you pick up when you're on litter detail.
