Dad processed a lot of persimmons over the weekend. He thought of, and tried, a new process for getting more pulp from the persimmons. It has always bugged him that more pulp remains attached to the seeds being discarded than goes in the bowl. Since many berries and fruits are simmered before juicing, he thought it might work to boil and simmer the seed/pulp mess and then run it through the colander again. It seemed to work, even though it is a little darker than the first run pulp. We'll make some pudding with it soon to check the taste.
The waste water was very orange and probably very sweet, so he poured it into the goats' feed buckets. Minnie liked it very well and drank most of it right away. Her beard was soggy with persimmon water and swung back and forth as she enjoyed the treat.
