Betsy is 13 now, and she is finally learning how to mow straight lines. Dad would not let her mow because of her habit of crooked lines. He turned her loose on the side yard on Saturday and she did pretty well.
Also - we can laugh about it now - her hair is finally getting back to normal color after many coloring sessions and a lot of money spent. A mother of a friend took it upon herself to color Betsy's hair one night at a slumber party and it was a very pretty (not) shade of orange. A bit of the orange is still visible in the photo above, but it is going away. Needless to say, Betsy has developed enough assertiveness to tell people no after that incident...
