Dad's in Charlotte, NC this week on business. A friend from the office, Walt Turbyfill, drove him to the mountains after work one evening and they went to Chimney Rock, where we vacationed a few years ago and where "The Last of the Mohicans" was filmed.
They had dinner at Walt's favorite Mexican restaurant on the way back to Charlotte. The owner had been telling Walt how great his favorite dessert was and finally got him and dad to try it out. They ate all of it - watermelon with lime and hot sauce. They said it was decent. They also joke that the owner probably went back to the kitchen and told the cooks, "Look out there at those stupid Americans - they'll eat anything!"
