In which dad puts up a weathervane on Easter

After 14 years, the weathervane finally sits above the barnyard

Grandma and Grandpa Johnson gave us a weathervane when we moved to the hill in 1998. Grandpa thought it would look great up on top of the 40' tall roof of the old red barn. Dad was going to get around to putting it up there after the restoration was all done, but then the tornado took out the barn in 2001 and the weathervane was set aside, only to disappear beneath the other things that get piled up in the corner of the new barn (while it was awaiting a concrete floor and shelving).
It happened to catch dad's eye Sunday afternoon, so he decided to finally put it up on the cabin. It only took about 20 minutes to install, which proves Ben Franklin's saying that "a job once started is half-done".
Grandmas Johnson and Howes were here for Easter dinner, so they got to see the unveiling.
