An evening at Cades Cove

The mill at Cades Cove

After leaving Harriman, we meandered to Cades Cove to spend the evening. It was perfect weather and we got the most out of it. Dad photographed two gobblers with two hens and the mountains in the background, all went for a hike at Tremont, and then the evening was capped off with a slow drive around the 11-mile loop.

A small family cemetery in the middle of the loop - we hiked back to it because a girl said there was a bear back there, but we never saw it

Interesting tombstone at one of the small cemeteries in the loop

The business end of the horse-driven sorghum squeezer thingy

The sorghum evaporator looks a lot like a maple syrup evaporator

Dad got much closer to the strutting toms than this for pictures, but this shows the mountains in the background
