Skeet has almost always gotten to become a house dog when the temperature drops below about 35 degrees for long periods during the day. This year - with her advanced age (almost 15) - it is quite a bit of work. She has to wear a diaper when she is sleepy because she leaks pee when she is completely relaxed during sleep. She is perfectly trained otherwise, but we have to stay on our toes and let her out often.
With the blizzard and deep snow and cold of the past week, she and Lucy have become permanent obstacles in front of the woodburner and Casey is usually in the laundry room (for the same age/cold reasons). We don't mind a bit however. It's nice to be able to make the "Original Dogs" comfortable in their retirement years.
