The track season that wasn't

We sat in the very cold bleachers last night at Southridge High School, hoping that Abbey would get to defend her 800 title against ten teams (she won it in 2010), but at the same time hoping that it would get called because of the miserable weather. To make the cold and wind worse, a storm front blew through and the meet was called due to lightning. No sooner than the meet was called and we were heading home, the sun came out and a huge rainbow appeared. We pulled into the church parking lot across the highway from the high school and Abbey posed for this quick cell phone picture.
The continued postponements and cancellations due to the wet/cold weather is really hurting Abbey's times and conditioning, even though she remains unbeaten.
