A fun night at Clash on the Wabash

Abbey and long-time AAU teammate, Nichole Perry of North Posey

Abbey and several friends/teammates played in the annual "Clash on the Wabash" at Wabash Valley Junior College's James S. Spencer gym last night. It pits all-stars from Illinois and Indiana against each other in a boys/girls double-header.
Abbey enjoyed playing this one last game with Wood Memorial teammate Andrea Nossett and Indiana Swish/Elite teammates Megan Eck and Nichole Perry. Nichole got Most Valuable Player of the game. She is heading to the University of Charleston (WV) to play next year. She had a great game, scoring 16 in only a little more than a half of play. (To ensure near-equal playing time with nine players on the team.)
Abbey scored six, had several rebounds and a couple of blocked shots in her half-a-game. Andrea scored eight points and played very well also. Indiana thumped Illinois in the game, but we didn't record the final score.
Andrea lost the free throw contest after she and Emily Brown of Mt Carmel (Ill) shot many rounds of tie-breakers. Andrea actually won the contest in regulation, but the scorekeeper was distracted and lost track of rounds. Since it was all in fun, nobody complained. They made so many in a row that the announcer finally began trying to rattle them with buzzers and comments.
