A locust tree down by the Millers' pond
As anyone that knows us can attest to, we are plagued with tornadoes. It seems that if there is a tornado in the tri-state, it hits us or one of our family members. Fortunately this time, the tornado pulled back up when it got to within 3/4 mile of the house. It was heading right at it, but didn't quite make it. Dad was in Cincinnati on business and also got to see damage there from the same storm.
Although we didn't have any damage on our property, many neighbors did. Those on Taftown Road were especially hard-hit. None of us had power for three days while most of the power lines over there were replaced.
Dad and Betsy spent a few hours over at Mike and Jayne Miller's house cutting up some downed locust trees. They don't burn firewood, so Mike knew dad would be very happy to latch onto such good firewood. Betsy tagged along to help clean up the non-firewood debris and throw it into burn piles.
