Ab didn't want the good German food, so she got a boring reuben
Mom and dad took Kevin and Abbey to Jasper to eat at the Schnitzelbank and to go to the Strassenfest. Kevin wasn't sure about the German food, but he gave the schnitzel a try and liked it. The music wasn't as good as the Hofbrauhaus in Newport and the prices were higher, but the food was excellent. Not bad for being less than an hour from home.
After getting their bellies full, the foursome went uptown to listen to the music and experience the German street festival. They watched the log-sawing contest, listened to music at three different stages, and played a couple of carnival games. Kevin got high score for his age in the soccer kick speed test, but dad won the free throw shooting contest. It was a nice diversion from the weekly grind.
