Building an evaporator

Stan grinding on the scrap metal that became the evaporator front

Dad spent yesterday with Neighbor Bill and last Saturday with Stan Miles working on turning scrap metal into an evaporator. He and Stan rescued two pieces of metal from the weeds and Stan cut and welded until the metal matched the drawing that dad had made. Neighbor Bill found a scrap piece of stainless steel, so he cut and welded it to look like dad's drawing also.

When all was said and done, the evaporator looks pretty high-tech for a simple backyard operation. It is good to have talented friends that like maple syrup.
