Womack, Missouri

Arnie and Bob Case pose on the front steps of the Lenz & Son General Store in Womack, Missouri

Arnie and Kelley went to visit Bob and Sandy Case in Perryville, Missouri for the weekend. While Sandy and Kelley hung out around town, Arnie and Bob went rabbit hunting at the farm of one of Bob's students. Each of them used their bows. Arnie got a running shot at a rabbit and missed, kicking up snow with the late arrow. The student couldn't believe that the guys could hit a running rabbit (and they probably couldn't have), but when Bob tossed a walnut into the air and Arnie drilled it with a flu-flu arrow, the boy was a believer.

The next day, the guys went turkey scouting in the Mark Twain National Forest near Womack. Afterwards, they stopped at the Lenz & Son General Store (above) and got snacks. The place looked like it was right out of the 1930s. The big sign on the wall said, "Drink Coca-Cola, the drink the football Cardinals drink". The picture below was found on the internet. It is of the same store, but about 85 years earlier.

The same store around 1900
