Turkey egg in the pasture

Dad bushhogged the pastures this weekend since it is late enough in the season that no young deer or turkeys would be harmed. After mowing the back pasture, he went back to check on the goats (they're browsing down some honeysuckle) and thought he saw one of Kevin & Abbey's golf balls in the grass. He picked it up to find out that it was an un-hatched turkey egg. He has seen the flock a couple of times and the poults are about 1/3 grown, so it's not like the egg will ever hatch. We learned years ago (after mowing over a turkey nest) that there is always at least one hen that nests back there.
Thirty years ago, we never would have believed that we'd have turkeys so close to any house that we owned without moving to the Ozarks. Very neat...
