Boscoe and the Thumper Brothers
We didn't do much around home today for the Fourth of July holiday. We've been so busy this spring and summer that farm work has gotten behind and relatives weren't buying fireworks due to the slow economy. Perhaps in 2013 there will be enough confidence to begin buying them again. Anyway, we hope to resume the large gathering at our house next year, regardless of the existence of fireworks.
Uncle Kenny and Aunt Donna did come over for a wienie roast on the fancy new garden benches around the fire ring. It was a small gathering considering what we normally do, but it was still nice.
Dad took some pictures of Boscoe and the Thumper Brothers (Jack & Jake). He set the tripod up on the hill and the boys bedded down to watch. All you've got to do is acknowledge the presence of Jack and Jake and they begin thumping their tails on the ground. With a slow shutter speed, Dad caught the motion of their tails. It wasn't fireworks from the hill, but it was cheap entertainment.
